USGA post video of Laura Davies making turf tee

The USGA created a stink when they posted a video of Laura Davies using a wedge to make a turf tee. Then she tees the ball up on the turf and hits her driver. 1st this is legal. 2nd Lee Trevino
used to do it when hitting 3 wood except he used either his foot to knock the turf up or the 3 wood. JT has been seen doing it as well.

I’ve had the honor of caddying for Laura and trust me I’ve seen more hacks do more damage with a driver and the ball on a wooden tee. Lighten up folks

I see no harm in this as long at the turf is knocked back down. I do think the USGA was irresponsible for posting this video just to get clicks. I bet very very very few people even knew she did this and have never thought of doing it themselves, Now the USGA who is supposed to be on the side of superintendents just pissed them all off by putting this idea in everyone’s head
